Happy Mother’s Day

My oldest daughter  stopped by my office Thursday and we had a good visit for Mother’s Day.  She does home health so her work schedule and my work schedule make it very difficult for us to have any quality time.

I wish all three of my kids and their families could come over for a Mother’s day  get together, but I guess that’s not a good idea with several of us being high risk for the covid-19 virus.  I hope you are all doing everything you can to stay safe.

One of my sweet customers was in the office a few days ago.  Her son was with her.  He was undecided what to get her for Mother’s day.  She showed him my books, (I always keep a supply on hand) and he ended up buying all four for her.  I had a good time signing the books for her.

If you still haven’t found what to do for your mother, it’s not too late.  Go to my Amazon page by clicking the link below.  All four of my ebooks are on special for only $2.99 each.   If she doesn’t like to read ebooks, they are all still available in softcover.   Order today and give her an IOU stating that they are “on the way”.

I keep telling you that Shattered Dreams will be released soon, and it is still in the works.  It’s just taking a little longer to get it ready for release than we thought.  But, I promise, it won’t be much longer.  Please be patient.  It is coming soon.

BACK TO NORMAL

What is normal?  The new norm?  Do any of us know what to expect?  I’ll be so glad when we can gather together again in large groups.  The photo shown above is  my family, quite a few years ago.  My hair is dark brown, not even a hint of grey. I’m holding my son in my arms.  He is now, in his forties.

Some states have started opening up again, at least partially.  Here in Stephenville, TX where I work, restaurants are opening up for dining in, but are limited to 50% occupancy.   They’ve spent the last few days removing some of the tables, and rearranging the ones left to comply with the social distancing requirements.

As an insurance agent, I was considered essential, so I didn’t miss any work.  Things were pretty slow for the first couple of weeks, but these last few weeks have been business as usual.  I did try to make my office safer.  I moved furniture around and blocked off my desk so no one can get close to me.  I hung pink hearts with upbeat sayings on them.  I’m staying positive.

I know a lot of people are now working shorter hours, some have lost their jobs.  Anyway you look at it, people have been staying home a lot more.  I’m trying to do my part in helping people stay busy.  I love to read, so naturally, that was my first thought.  More time at home, means more time to read.

Amazon has all four of my books on special.  My ebooks are all on sale for only $2.99 each.  Prices on the paperback books remain the same, but check out my ebooks for big savings.

We’re in the final stages of getting Shattered Dreams into your hands.  Shattered Dreams is #3 in the Dreams Never Lie series.  You’ll have it soon, I promise.

Now, I’ll let you in on a little secret.  I’ve started Hidden Dreams.  It will be #4 in the Dreams Never Lie series.  I’m pretty excited.  The ideas just keep coming, so I just keep putting them on paper.

Stay safe everyone, and keep reading.

We Love Camping

Last Memorial Day weekend was great.  Johnny, my boss, and my friend, agreed to work for me on the Tuesday after Memorial Day, so I had an extra long weekend.  Ronnie took our travel trailer to Cleburne State Park on Thursday and he and Hank, our Jack Russell terrier stayed the night by themselves.  I worked on Friday, but my car was packed and at 5:00 on the dot, I was out the door and headed down Highway 67 in a flash.

Since I didn’t have to be back to work until Wednesday, we really had a nice getaway.  The weather was great, temps were in the high 80’s, but there was a cool breeze blowing so it was comfortable.  The breeze also kept the bugs away.  We even had a campfire a few nights.  It was great.

Over Labor Day we went back to Cleburne State Park and our BFF’s took their travel trailer also.  We had a marvelous time visiting and catching up with our friends.

That was last year, but now, it’s back to the real world.  Well, almost.  The real world has changed dramatically. Even the state parks are closed now and unless your job is considered essential, you’re stuck at home.

Here’s an incentive to stay busy by reading more. All of my ebooks have been reduced to just $2.99 each. Order all four now as the price won’t stay this low forever.

Stay home and stay safe everyone.

ANOTHER STORMY SATURDAY

I remember last spring, we had three weekends in a row with rainy Saturdays?  My grandsons little league games got cancelled again.  Heavy thunderstorms were headed our way.  What shall I do with my Saturday?  Don’t think I’ll be getting out in it, forget the oil change I had planned.  It’ll wait until another Saturday.

I finally decided to work on The Color of Thunder.  I had received my reviews in from my Beta readers that I still needed to compare and I should be working on the corrections that are needed to get it ready for publication.  Nah, not in the mood for that either.  Writing is a lot more fun than “fixing”.

I guess I could clean house.  OMG, where did that come from?  Not happening today.  Or I could get back to work on Shattered Dreams.  Yes, that sounds like a plan.  The cat is still stalking Josh, and no one agrees with him on the three murders, so I guess that’s a good place to start.

Sheriff Dodge Brewster is the only one who agrees with Josh on this case, but every clue they uncover just leads to more confusion.  Every alibi for every suspect checks out perfectly.  They are still stuck with the age old question: Who Done It?

Shattered Dreams, the third novel in the Dreams Never Lie series, will be released later this year.  That is, if I can figure out, Who Done It?

This is a blog that I started months ago, and never finished.  In case you’re wondering, I did FINALLY figure out ‘who done it’.  Shattered Dreams is in the editing stage right now with plans for a Spring 2020 release.

SO MUCH IS HAPPENING

Wow, the month of February is over, and we’re halfway through March.  Time is really flying by.  But suddenly, many of our activities have come to a stand still.  Staying busy and maintaining the norm is crucial during this critical time our nation is facing.

For me, this means more time to read.  If reading is your passion, let me help.  Effective immediately, I have lowered the price of all of my ebooks to just $2.99 -including my latest release.

Despite the Corona outbreak, this is the start of my busiest time of year at work.  People begin to receive their income tax refunds and many of them spend it on new cars.

And since I am an insurance agent, I have really been busy trying to keep up.  I think I’ve already written more new policies this month, than I did the entire months of January and February combined.  Needless to say, I come home exhausted.\

I’m so thankful that my sweet husband cooks supper for me and brings my plate to me on a tray.  After nearly 33 years of marriage, I think I’ll keep him.

Today is the first day I’ve worked with my publisher all month.  I’ve got to finish editing Shattered Dreams.  Special thanks to my two beta readers, Chuck and Dorinda.  Y’all did a great job.  I’ve finally gotten all of your corrections added to my rough draft, now I’ll start back on page one and see how it reads.  I’m really close to submitting Shattered Dreams for print. More details to follow.

I hope everyone had a great Valentine’s Day.  Being on the Keto diet meant no chocolate for us, but we survived. As a nation, we’re going to survive this epidemic we’re facing too.
