Leap Year Book Signing

2020 is leap year which means that February has 29 days. The 29th day of this February is when I’m scheduled for a Book Signing.

I am so excited. John and Holly Witte are the owners of Sit N Sip Books in Mineral Wells, Texas, and they have graciously invited me back for another book signing. The last one was nearly 2 years ago and I only had two books at that time.

Now, I have 4 books that will be available. I’d love to sign your books so bring them with you, or I’ll have extra copies on hand.

I’ll be doing a short reading from Dreams Are Forever and The Color of Thunder. I may also offer a teaser from Shattered Dreams which will not be on the market until spring.

Sit N Sip Books offers a large variety of coffees, tea, smoothies and other beverages so come out and Sit N Sip with us. I’ll be there from 2:00 – 4:00 on Saturday, February 29, 2020.

I hope to see you then.

Dreams Never Lie Series Against the WallREVIEWS:

“I discovered your books through my dad, and fell in love with Josh in the Dreams Are Forever series. You’ve become my favorite author and I’ll never forget actually getting to meet you when you came to Arkansas to promote your books. I haven’t read The Color of Thunder yet, but I can’t wait to dig in. Love you Elsie!” -JAIA

A SERIES IS BORN

When I started writing Dreams Never Lie, I never imagined that it would birth an entire series.  After we released it, my publisher told me he wanted a sequel, so Dreams are Forever was born.  Shattered Dreams is next.  Still under construction.

In my own personal reading, I hate when a book leaves you hanging, to be continued in the next book.  I won’t do that.  Each of my books is a complete story in itself.  It has a beginning, and an end.  The next book, is a completely new story, just using the same characters.  It also has a beginning and an end.   No cliff hangers.

Shattered Dreams 300dpiNow that The Color of Thunder has been released, I’ve worked really hard and now  Shattered Dreams is in the editing stage.   I had put it on the back burner for a few months but once I jumped back into it, the rest of the book just kind of wrote itself.   In this book, the antagonist is the one whose dreams were shattered.  I feel so sorry for her and what she went through, I’m really wasn’t sure how I was going to resolve the conflicts.

With Josh and Dodge both on the job trying to solve the mystery, she doesn’t stand a chance …or does she?

Shattered Dreams Available Spring 2020.

THE COLOR OF THUNDER

The Color of Thunder was a really fun project.  It took a while to get the cover set up like we wanted it, but as you can see in the photo above it’s pretty striking .

I really hope you like this book, it is so different from any writing I’ve ever done before.  This one is not the usual thriller that I am so fond of writing.  It’s the life story of a fictional minister in north central Texas.  He and a non-Christian reporter become friends while working on a series of articles for the newspaper.

As the story unfolds, this unlikely pair, even though they clash often, both have hidden agendas.  Which goals will be accomplished, the reporters or the ministers?

As the reporter asks questions, the answers come in a series of flashbacks.  Some of his life story is fun, some is sad.  I even made myself cry several times while writing his story.  In the words of one of my beta readers who proofed the rough draft for me, “If this book doesn’t touch people, they are unable to be touched.”

I hope you enjoy reading The Color of Thunder.  After you read it, please leave a review, either on this page, or on the Amazon web site.  I really love your feedback, be it good, bad or indifferent.  Thanks so much.

A REAL CHANGE OF PACE

I was a little nervous when we released The Color of Thunder because it’s so different from the mystery/suspense novels that I normally write.  I wasn’t sure how it would be received by my readers.

Turns out I was nervous for nothing.  I have had nothing but positive feedback on my newest release.  I’m honored and humbled by some of the responses.

I started it several years ago but never finished it.  I got so engrossed in my mystery/suspense series that I forgot all about The Color of Thunder.

When I ran across it one day, and read what I had written years before, I knew I had to finish it.  I pulled the manuscript up on desktop and can you believe it, it practically wrote itself.  My fingers were tripping all over themselves trying to type faster as the ideas kept coming.  I held my breath as I submitted it to Eric Jones, my publisher, not knowing what to expect.

When he called me and said “Yes, yes, yes, it’s a go.”  I nearly cried with relief.  The paperback copy is available at Amazon.  The e-book was released a little later but is now available.  Eric put some finishing touches on it that are pretty amazing.  I can’t wait for your feedback on the e-book!!!

SHATTERED DREAMS

Well, I finally did it.  I finished Shattered Dreams.  Wow, it took over a year and a half from start to finish.  When I got about half way through, I had myself so confused, I wasn’t sure how I was ever going to figure out what to do next.  I had so many things going on at the same time, there just seemed to be no way to smooth it all out.

I finally took a break and The Color of Thunder was born.  Once I finished with it, and got it published, then Shattered Dreams just fell into place.  I just a few minutes ago sent it to my publisher.  Keep you fingers crossed for me.  I just know he’s going to like it, but there is always that little doubt that keeps creeping in.  “What if he hates it?”

Nope, not going there.  I really, really think he’s going to love it.  Can’t wait for his response.  If it’s positive, then well be shooting for an early spring release.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas.  Today is New Year’s Day and I’m really excited to think about what’s in store for 2020.

I do have lots of ideas for my new book that I’ll be starting soon.  I think the title will be Thou Shalt Not Steal.  I have the first chapter tentatively figured out.  The new minister is in the process of moving to the new town and on his very first day there, he’s accused of robbing a convenience store at gun point.

Sorry, that’s just a teaser.  No more info on the new book yet.  Got a lot more figuring out to do before it gets put on paper.

Here’s wishing you all a very happy and prosperous New Year!!!
